Morgan Wallen is one of the most popular names in the country music industry. The singer has millions of fans across the country and a string of hit songs. However, he’s also known for making headlines for more than just his music. The Tennessee native has found himself in hot water on several occasions. Most recently, he was arrested when he threw a chair off of a six-story Nashville rooftop bar. The chair landed on the ground near a police cruiser, and the singer was quickly taken into custody. Now, those close to him are worried about his future.
According to People Magazine, Wallen’s recent arrest has sparked concerns for his health and possible issues with alcohol. Sources tell the outlet that the singer may have a problem with alcohol and often drinks too much. The problem then leads to other issues for the beloved country star, such as his current legal troubles.
Concerns for Morgan Wallen Grow After Recent Arrest
“Morgan is generally a nice, fun person to hang out with, but when he gets going he doesn’t know when to stop,” a source told the magazine. “Morgan and alcohol is a problem and it’s been a problem that keeps coming back around.”
Morgan Wallen has also addressed his drinking in multiple songs. With lyrics like, “I’m just sayin’ I’m doin’ the best I can / But what do you expect from a redneck? / Hell, I was born with a beer in my hand.”
Currently, Wallen is cooperating with the police when it comes to the incident. He’s been charged with three felony counts. The charges could carry one or two years in prison per count. However, it’s unlikely that he’ll serve that kind of time.
“I don’t want to minimize it, but still, he probably would not be eligible for consecutive sentences,” Nashville criminal defense attorney David Raybin tells People. “It’s probably a maximum of two years, assuming he was not put on probation.”
It remains to be seen how Morgan Wallen will handle this latest controversy. However, some fans are tired of seeing the drama surrounding the singer. Meanwhile, others are rooting for him to get his act together.
