The Kombat Pack 1 DLC for Mortal Kombat 1 was teased before the game’s launch last year. It was a bit confusing that the developers were teasing post-launch content before the game was out, but the pattern for the MK1 DLC is a seasonal approach; meaning that even after a year, we still haven’t seen all the DLC kombatants in the game. Speaking of which, Homelander, the 5th extra fighter to join Mortal Kombat 1/MK1 was recently teased by Ed Boon.

There are no official and exact release dates set for Homelander in Mortal Kombat 1. However, the recent tease by Ed Boon has listed this character to come next after Ermac. Homelander might join the MK1 roster on June 13, 2024, when the fourth season of The Boys TV series goes live.

The creator of the Mortal Kombat franchise has posted a very short clip of Liu Kang’s face-off with Homelander in MK1. This video doesn’t include any lines by Homelander, but Liu Kang mentions that John Gillman has chosen war with a god.

We're very pleased with the reception players are giving Ermac and happy to remind everyone there is still a LOT more planned for #MortalKombat1

Now this is very unfortunate that we don’t get to see Homelander in action soon enough. However, Ed Boon has teased more info besides the debut of Homelander in Mortal Kombat 1.

Accordingly, there are more plans for MK1. That means more online features, classic costumes, Kameos, new moves, and secrets. This is what we have been receiving with every season of Invasions since last year. However, with “a LOT” bell ringing in our heads, one might wonder what that would mean.

Are we going to receive another year full of Mortal Kombat 1 content? That’s probably the case. Kombat Pack 2 is rumored to be a thing, and a story expansion focusing on Titan Havik would pretty much be a love letter to fans if it happened. With those stretches in mind, we’ll keep you posted with anything new about Homelander koming to Mortal Kombat 1.

Mortal Kombat 1 is currently available to play on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
