The upcoming Ms. Marvel Disney+ series is reportedly close to casting its lead. The news comes from MCU Cosmic, a site dedicated to all things Marvel from news to rumors to video games. Lead writer Jeremy Conrad also tweeted out the news.
It sounds like Marvel has found their Ms. Marvel. No names yet, but it’s in the final stages of casting and we might learn who it is soon! pic.twitter.com/bbA6QgKTvk

While this sadly means there is no name attached as of yet, we’ll likely be hearing who the lucky actress is soon. Marvel went on the talent hunt for Pakistani-American actresses aged 15-20. According to the report, they have now either found their Kamala Khan or have a tiny list. News will probably break soon as negotiations are underway, though Conrad expects it will be an unknown actress.
However, this isn’t the only bit of news. Marvel is also searching for a male lead who is also Pakistani, aged 17-25. There is a number of characters this could be. Kamala has an older brother named Aamir. In the comics, she has also teamed up with a Pakistani teen vigilante known as the Red Dagger. But as its a lead role, that would point to Bruno. He’s Kamala’s closest friend who keeps her secret identity, helps her from time to time, and harbors not-so-secret feelings for the hero. He’s Caucasian in the comics, though that’s no reason to rule him out.
Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, debuted in 2014. As an Inhuman, she gained her abilities through the process of Terrigenisis. She’s a polymorph, able to change the shape, size, and density of any body part at will. She’s also an incredibly passionate fangirl when it comes to heroes, and her name pays homage to her personal hero, Captain Marvel.
Her series rose in popularity immensely quickly, and she’s one of Marvel’s most beloved recent heroes. She was also included in this year’s Ultimate Alliance 3 on Nintendo Switch. Marvel announced a Disney+ series for the character earlier this year at D23, which will serve as an introduction to the movies. And she’ll play a vital role in the Marvel’s Avengers game, set to release on May 15th, 2020. It’s an excellent time to be a Kamala Khan fan.
