It’s 2016 now, and it’s been 5 years since the initial release of Skyrim onto
“When can we expect a release date for The Elder Scrolls 6?”
“What is the geographical location?”
Rumors and various sources claim that the next release of the next single-player game will be early 2019. The same sources also believe the location of the next Elder Scrolls to take place in Argonia. All of The Elder Scrolls titles take place on the planet Nirn. On Nirn, Argonia is a province within the region of the Black Marsh. This would be an exciting addition the geography we have been able to explore thus far in the franchise. With the Nords and Elves holding strong popularity in the existing titles, seeing the homeland of the Argonian’s and exploring their origins would be well received by many fans. Something to consider is that 5 years of development was spent between the releases of The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion and The Elder Scrolls Skyrim. If The Elder Scrolls 6 is released in 2019 as it is rumored to be, a total of 8 years will have passed in between releases. 8 years! Bethesda is very proud of the franchise they have and does not feel any rush to put out another title as soon as possible like many other game developers would. This wait time is excessively high, but if the title is half as good as Skyrim was, it will be well worth the wait. Especially if in 2019 it is released on a newer generation of consoles.
