MultiVersus, the platform brawler from Warner Bros, released yesterday in Open Beta after a week-long early access period, and players are eating up. With record numbers on Steam and other platforms, it’s clear the new game is a hit. With so many playing and the ease of finding teammates, you may be wondering if the game has voice chat so you can communicate strategy with a random teammate. If you’re wondering, we’re here to answer. In this guide, we’ll answer if MultiVersus has voice chat!
Is There Voice Chat in MultiVersus?
As a quick trip to the settings menu may have already answered for you, unfortunately, MultiVersus doesn’t currently have voice chat. In fact, no form of chat with your teammates or enemies is currently available even through text. It’s all done to focus strictly on the game itself which isn’t inherently a bad thing, but it means those of us without friends to play with as teammates in the Team mode are left to trust silent communication can get the job done.
With all this being said, it isn’t the be-all-end-all for our answer. While MultiVersus doesn’t feature voice or text chat, it doesn’t mean it never will. The game is currently only in Open Beta, so it’s likely the team is looking to refine features (and fix bugs of course) before properly considering the game a full product. Voice chat and text chat could easily be part of what the team is working on, and it’d make sense. You should just go in understanding that any likelihood for either form of communication is just that: a likelihood. Nothing has been confirmed by the developers, so you’ll need to wait and see what they have to say on the matter.
