A New York woman is hoping to identify a stranger after newly shared security camera footage appeared to show him repeatedly kicking the side mirror of her parked vehicle, leaving her with an estimated $700 repair bill. Although the incident took place over the July 4 weekend, she recently posted the footage online in the hope that someone might recognize the man and help identify him.
The video comes by way of TikTok user @lizcrespo0 — aka Liz Crespo — a Brooklyn resident who regularly shares moments from her everyday life on the platform. Her latest clip is a little different, however, as it features security camera footage that appears to show a stranger damaging her parked vehicle. An onscreen caption helps explain the location, and reads, “114 Troutman Street, Brooklyn, NY, Vandalized my Driver’s Side Mirror ??? July 2nd”
In the footage, a man wearing a white T-shirt, blue jorts and a backpack is seen tying his shoelaces before walking over to a parked white vehicle and repeatedly kicking its side mirror. As the video plays out, the Liz explains, “Does anyone know this scumbag scoundrel? On July 2nd, 2026, on 114 Troutman he was caught by the camera in my building. Kicking, kicking, and kicking. It cost me $700. He’s going to be reported soon and he’s wanted.”
According to the creator, the man was a complete stranger, and she hopes sharing the footage will help identify him.

In the comments, the creator clarified that the man was a “total and random stranger” who allegedly knocked the mirror off her vehicle over the July 4 weekend while she was spending time inside with her granddaughter, who was visiting from Jamaica. She also described the aftermath, writing, “When I went to my car it was in pieces. The camera right above the vehicle was our building and they released the footage so we can catch this vandalizing criminal.”
Many TikTok users rallied behind the woman and hoped the man would eventually be identified. One commenter wrote, “I really hope someone recognizes this little prick…it’s disgusting that this guy vandalizes private property in broad daylight..and should not get away with it! Hopefully the NYPD gets this criminal.”
Although the incident happened over the July 4 weekend, the recently shared footage has renewed attention on the case. For now, Liz says she hopes someone recognizes the man seen in the video so he can be identified.
