Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger posted a video on X marking her first 100 days in office, highlighting efforts to tackle the high cost of living, attract new business investment, invest in the workforce, and address federal economic policies.

The message from the Democratic governor, who took office in January, has drawn strong reactions from users in Virginia, with some questioning specific achievements and others criticizing her record on taxes and redistricting.

100 days. We've hit the ground running.

Tackling the high cost of living. Bringing new business investment to Virginia. Investing in our workforce. Contending with reckless economic policies out of Washington.

In the video, she highlights her administration’s progress after 100 days. She points to new laws aimed at expanding worker protections across Virginia and the establishment of a paid family and medical leave program set to launch in 2028 as key accomplishments in tackling the high cost of living and investing in the workforce.

Governor Spanberger states that her administration has “hit the ground running” by tackling the high cost of living, bringing new business investment to Virginia, investing in the workforce, and contending with what she describes as reckless economic policies from Washington. She concludes with the line, “And we’re just getting started.”

Virginia Voices Split Over Spanberger’s 100-Day Claims

Some users questioned the claims directly. One commenter wrote: “Name them. Name the achievements. Which specific business? What workforce investments? What ‘reckless’ economic policies and how ‘contended with’.”

Others accused the governor of misrepresenting her record. “All lies…. you’ve done nothing but make Virginia unaffordable for Virginians. And new business investments? Governor Youngkin brought those in, you’re just trying to take credit for that,” one reply stated.

Another added: “Left out the part where you went back on your word and redistricted our state.”

Critics also focused on policy disagreements, with one writing: “God help Virginians with this maniac as governor! As Spamberger implements historic tax increases, she claims to be tackling the high cost of living! ”

Fewer supporters offered encouragement. One commenter said: “Keep up the good work, Governor Spanberger! Gives us hope for the rest of the country (and upcoming elections)!”

The video has become part of the broader online debate over Governor Spanberger’s early tenure in Virginia. As her administration continues its work, reactions to the 100-day message reflect the sharply divided views among residents.
