According to Variety, Netflix has ordered three new Sci-Fi shows.
The first new series coming to the juggernaut streaming service is called The I-Land. Neil LaBute (The Wicker Man…yes the one with Nicholas Cage) will not only be a writer on The I-Land but will also act as the show’s director and showrunner for its seven-episode season. Here is a quick synopsis for the upcoming Netflix series:
“When ten people wake up on a treacherous island with no memory of who they are or how they got there, they set off on a trek to try to get back home. They soon discover this world is not as it seems. Faced with the island’s extreme psychological and physical challenges, they must rise to their better selves — or die as their worst ones.”
Moving on to the next Netflix show, October Faction. Damian Kindler (Krypton) will be the mastermind behind this new 10-episode show based off of the IDW comic book series. Here is a quick synopsis for October Faction:
“Based on the IDW comic book series created by Steve Niles, the show follows globetrotting monster hunters Fred and Deloris Allen who, after the death of Fred’s father, return to their hometown in upstate New York with their teenage children Geoff and Viv. As the family adjusts, Fred and Deloris must hide their identities as members of a secret organization, and quickly discover that their new small-town setting isn’t as idyllic as it seems.”
Finally, we have Warrior Nun, which is inspired by the Warrior Nun manga novels. Simon Barry (Continuum) will be the show’s showrunner and executive producer as well as a writer for the 10 episode season. Here is a quick synopsis for the upcoming Netflix series:
“It revolves around a 19-year-old woman who wakes up in a morgue with a new lease on life and a divine artifact embedded in her back.
