Alden Ehrenreich and Phoebe Dynevor are at each other’s necks in a new trailer for Netflix‘s psychological thriller Fair Play. The duo, known for their roles in Oppenheimer and Bridgerton, respectively, play a couple locked in bitter competition when a new position opens up at the high-class financial firm where they work. Eddie Marsan, Rich Sommer, and Sebastian De Souza also star, while Chloe Domont makes her directorial debut at the helm of 2022’s breakout Sundance hit.

Fair Play Trailer Shows Alden Ehrenreich and Phoebe Dynevor Are in Deep

Having premiered at the Sundance Film Festival last year, Fair Play centers around Emily (Dynevor) and Luke (Ehrenreich), a recently engaged couple who work together at a cutthroat financial firm. When a prestigious promotion opportunity pits the couple against each other, once-sweet exchanges quickly go rotten as Emily and Luke face a serious and irreversible shift in power dynamics, grappling with the choice of sacrificing their relationship in the face of their own ambitions. According to Deadline,

“Fair Play unravels the uncomfortable collision of empowerment and ego.”

Having most recently starred as a Senate Aide in Oppenheimer, Alden Ehrenreich is best known for his roles as Eddie in Cocaine Bear and Han Solo in Solo: A Star Wars Story, which follows Ehrenreich as a younger version of everyone’s favorite space smuggler. He also has an upcoming yet unnamed role in the Marvel mini-series Ironheart starring Dominique Thorne.

Starring opposite Ehrenreich in the newest Fair Play trailer is Phoebe Dynevor, best known for her role in Bridgerton (2020). Over the course of two seasons, Dynevor plays Daphne Bridgerton, the eldest daughter of the Bridgerton family, who eventually marries and becomes the Duchess of Hastings. Some of Dynevor’s other roles include Alexandra in Bank of Dave (2023) and Clare O’Brien in Younger (2017).

Fair Play, starring Alden Ehrenreich and Phoebe Dynevor, will be released to select theaters on September 29th and will be released on Netflix on October 6th, 2023.
