At the MTV Movie and TV Awards, Scarlett Johansson was awarded the Generation Award which celebrates actors whose diverse contributions to both film and television have turned them into household names. She joins big names like Jim Carrey, Tom Cruise, and Sandra Bullock.
Black Widow was the first female Avenger in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with her first appearance in Iron Man 2. She was an immediate fan favorite, with her badass fighting skills and her secretive life. The fans demanded that she get her own movie that explains her story and pays tribute to her after the events of Avengers Endgame.
The events of Black Widow are set to take place in the two years between Captain America: Civil War and Avengers Infinity War. After her life as a S.H.I.E.L.D operative and an Avenger, Natasha Romanoff is seen reunited with her family, David Harbour’s Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian, Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova, and Rachel Weisz’s Melina Vostokoff. They will team up to go against the mysterious villain, Taskmaster.
Marvel Studios has been teasing the fans with clips and trailers of the movie since last year to keep the excitement going for the movie. Black Widow will be part of Phase 4 of the MCU. Although it was supposed to be the beginning of Phase 4, WandaVision on Disney+ replaced it.
