This new comic book day brings the second book of the much-hyped Dark Nights Metal book, the return of Norman Osborn as Green Goblin and a solo R2-D2 adventure that’s sure to be a blast. Keep reading for additional highlights for the new comic books this week:

New Comic

Dark Nights Metal #2 (of 6)

As Superman and Wonder Woman hunt for a missing ally, Batman investigates a mystery spanning centuries. When the World’s Greatest Detective discovers a foe even greater than the Justice League could possibly imagine, will Earth’s heroes be ready?

Head to shops today if you want a shot at issue #2, the first one sold out fast at many stores.

New Comic

Runaways #1

Nico, Karolina, Molly, Chase, Old Lace and even Gertrude are back! After a lengthy absence, the teen team of heroic children of villains is reuniting after nearly a decade off shelves.

This new comic series is debuting ahead of the 2018 live action adaptation of Runaways that will run on Hulu (One of the variant covers even features the live action cast) and will be written by Marvel newcomer, Rainbow Rowell.

New Comic

Secret Empire: Omega #1

Using the power of Kobik, the sentient Cosmic Cube that put America in the hands of the evil Hydra, Captain America has regained his mind and his belief in life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness… but what comes next? How can the American people, who spent the last year living in fear or being shipped off to prison camps, ever see Steve Rogers the same way again?

Redemption will certainly be a long road, but the inhabitants of the Marvel Universe have seen some intensely messed up stuff over the years. They can probably handle this.

New Comic

Amazing Spider-Man #32

After a failed overseas attempt to take on a depowered Spider-Man mano a mano, Norman Osborne came to the conclusion that a fair fight isn’t his style. How will Peter, who’s company and standing with his customers are in tatters after the events of Secret Empire, deal with this old school threat?

New Comic

Star Wars #36

The Empire has held 3P0 captive for far too long. There’s no way they are prepared to deal with this rescue. That’s right: R-2 is ready for action.

New Comic

Detective Comics #964

Anarky has shown Spoiler the world he’s built beneath Gotham City, which he plans to bring into the light, but she needs to know who helped him build it. What’s more, this alliance has put Steph back on Batman’s radar… and now the two are on a collision course.
