Like many auteurs, be it for movies or video games, Hidetaka Miyazaki, creator of Elden Ring, has a certain predilection for certain body parts. Elden Ring and Dark Souls players even noticed that notable female characters in the games tend to flaunt their bare feet. That’s why Elden Ring fans were quick to celebrate the release of an official Elden Ring figurine for a character with the barest feet of them all, Sorceress Sellen.
The Sellen figurine is made by none other than Pop Up Parade SP and Max Factory, though at the moment, it’s only available for pre-orders, like many video game figurines. For those who are curious, the Sellen Elden Ring figurine stands at a height of 17.5 cm or nearly 7 inches, but even at that scale, you’ll find no shortage of finer details, such as the veins on the feet and the distinct toenail lines, as was pointed out by the Elden Ring subreddit.
So, despite the staggering detail on the red sorceress sash and the sculpting on the helmet, all eyes in the Elden Ring subreddit are fixed on dear Sellen’s feet. In their defense, those veins, toe joint protrusions, and tendons are realistic enough to cast shadows.
It also just so happens that Sorceress Sellen in Elden Ring is a fan-favorite character and some people believed she should’ve been a romance option. It just goes to show that for many in the Elden Ring community, looks don’t matter as long as hygiene is on point. Sorceress Sellen is definitely a testament to that, because despite her face being covered by that cumbersome helmet, she still made many Tarnished fall head over heels.
Elden Ring Fans Have Waited Long for This
For those who might have missed (or immediately killed) Sellen’s character in Elden Ring, she’s a rebellious sorceress who got exiled from her academy and branded as a witch. So she made it her goal to worm her way back in and take over, but not without taking you as an apprentice along the way. Her mentorly tone and somewhat welcoming voice have proven to be quite a respite in the game’s harsh backdrop, so many players caved.
Despite Sellen’s cult popularity in Elden Ring, the Pop Up Parade mini could be the first big figurine for the character. Some of the previous Sellen figurines are either custom-made or 3D-printed, so the sculpting was not as meticulous.
Hence, Elden Ring fans had to show their enthusiastic or perhaps (half-joking) appreciation for Sellen’s feet. In the linked Reddit thread above, the most upvoted comment is praise for the Sellen figure’s feet, possibly being more detailed than the helmet.
“Notice how the toes are as detailed (or more than) as the mask,” suggested Redditor The_DNA28
“Miyazaki you’ve done it again,” commended Redditor kingkellam
“I thought this was a person in cosplay! Amazing,” noticed Redditor Ok_Chapter9416
“Feet,” as concisely and poetically disclosed by Redditor TheMunstacat920
