The latest GreedFall trailer shows off just how important diplomacy is in the upcoming title.
The second trailer to release in the last few weeks, the newest video from Spiders Studios sheds more light on the game’s robust world. The first video centered around all the customization options contained in the game. This new release focuses on relationships. While some have compared the upcoming title to The Witcher series, or Dishonored, there is a third game that should draw some comparisons.
This new GreedFall trailer points out that the main characters in this story are not conquering heroes. Instead, you will take on the role of a visiting diplomat. In order to succeed, you will have to win over people in all shapes and sizes.
Someone who might have started out an enemy can be won over. The mechanics of building your party in GreedFall sounds quite a bit like the main goals of Fire Emblem: Three Houses.
Diplomacy might be the key to success, players will need to win in battle as well. That’s why it’s important to be strategic in who you recruit into your party. It appears that having a front line warrior will pay big dividends. That doesn’t mean you necessarily want three of the same type of warrior in your group.
Figuring out how to mix and match different personalities, while also solving the puzzle of charming the natives adds an interesting degree of difficulty to GreedFall. As the new video points out, once you put together your team, you’re not home free.
Each companion has special wants and needs. Should you ignore those needs, bad things are going to happen. It’s possible the enemy-turned-friend, can turn back into an enemy if you aren’t careful. With a campaign of at least 30 hours, you’ll have plenty of chances to screw things up.
GreedFall launches on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on September 10.
