The owner of a New Jersey billiards business called out a family for playing without paying on social media. He shared receipts: a camera feed showing the family playing, then leaving when an employee used the restroom. Now he’s bringing light to the situation and saying, “It’s not right.”
Basha (@bashier_02) owns a billiards company where families can come and play games with each other. A large family recently arrived at his business, children included, to play pool, table tennis, and more. He shows the moment when his employee had to use the bathroom and left the room for five minutes. At that point, the family decides to pack up their things. They start fleeing the scene without paying.
To make matters worse, as the adults make their escape, the children stop at the top of the stairs. One of the children calls down to an adult, “We didn’t pay!” She keeps calling after the adults until one of them stops and looks through her purse. The adult says, “I’m looking!” Eventually, the entire family walks out of the business without waiting for the employee.
Basha tells his audience that people need to “do better.” He says this is “not about the money but about the principle” and that he’s running a family business here. He says that when he tries to run a nice, local business for everybody in the community, he feels disrespected by these adults’ actions.
The video immediately sparked reactions from commenters, many of whom were shocked by what these adults did. One commenter pointed out the obvious: “And in front of the children, terrible.” Another commenter added, “The girl at the top of the steps knew it wasn’t right. I hope she can keep her morals dealing with people like that.”
Other commenters advised Basha so this never happens again. One commenter suggested, “Not that it’s your fault but maybe try making sure someone is always watching the customer-facing areas so this can be prevented. Meaning make sure there are 2 people on shift at all times.” Another added, “Better start a pay first system or at least a card on file for sure.” Commenters continue to share their opinions and reactions on Basha’s video as it gains popularity.
