It wasn’t long ago that a woman faced legal threats for a supposed sour donut she sold to a customer four years ago. Bizarrely, in a similar vein, a man in New Jersey had qualms with a sandwich he too had ordered four years ago. However, he wasn’t looking for money but for violent revenge. Around 8 p.m., the angry customer waltzed into the sandwich shop and confronted the owner with a knife and a thirst for blood.
“You give me eggplant in my sandwich, and then my stomach was bothering me,” the man growled, per WABC-TV. A few moments later, the customer with a grudge had jabbed the owner in the stomach and then stabbed the victim’s brother in the arm. Unfortunately, this spontaneous attack not only left the victims injured but also shocked the regulars of the sandwich bakery. Locals claim the owner and his brother are “very nice people,” so something like this happening was not anything anyone could have expected.
“How was the owner supposed to know that he was allergic to eggplant?” a Redditor asked in disbelief. “Dude, he came back 4 years later,” chimed in another user. “It’s called CRAZY!!! You can’t use logic!” “[It’s a] Long time to stay angry about a sandwich,” agreed another. One commenter surmised that the assailant might have been mentally ill. In other words, it was never about his eggplant allergy or the wrong order. His violent payback was a result of someone with a spiraling mental condition who “couldn’t hold it together and remembered that one time he got something he didn’t like and felt stabby,” explained the commenter.
Another Reddit user adds that this person must have been having “an amazing life” if he can get violently mad over something as insignificant as a sandwich topping served to him four years ago. Fortunately, the local mayor says that the authorities will “get to the bottom of this,” so hopefully, the crazy New Jersey sandwich stabber will get served more than just some distasteful eggplant.
