Unless you’re new to gaming in general, you’ve heard of the Skyrim modding scene and how bananas it can get. You can get mods of anything, be it a lightsaber, riding dragons, doing both at the same time, or getting a gun. With Skyrim gameplay, the sky’s the limit on the amount of detail, memes, or alternate characters you can slap onto the game. Mods generally come in a few categories: those that improve the game and those that tailor toward a specific experience.
A modder, one of many, recently created a mod that adds some detail to the game. The mod is titled “Flies Around Corpses” and does exactly what you’d expect. One issue with Skyrim, at least for some people, is that the game lacks realism. Corpses ragdoll, nothing really bleeds, and the consequences for a dead body are minimal to none. With this mod and a handful of others, you could fire up a pretty realistic game for yourself. Skyrim never had too much graphic violence. The presence of gore of any kind was minimal to keep things available for almost everyone.
How Is This New Skyrim Mod Different?
The Flies Around Corpses mod on Nexus Mods was recently released by MihaiMods, a popular name among modders out there for the game. While the immersion mod, in this case, is small, it adds a ton of impact to Skyrim gameplay. If paired with other mods that modify the gore and blood systems, this mod could prove to make Skyrim an engrossing experience for those who think the base game lacks just a minor detail.
The mod not only adds flies to corpses but other items as well. When near a body, players can hear the flies buzzing, a sound that gets louder if more bodies are around. In addition to this, other items get the fly treatment. Things like raw fish or other bloody meat left out in the open also have flies swirling about them.
