Marvel is heading back into the Spider-Man 2099 universe with a new limited series focused on Miguel O’Hara. Writer Steve Orlando is following up his Spider-Man 2099: Exodus and Dark Genesis with the Miguel O’Hara – Spider-Man 2099 limited series. This time, he is injecting a ton of horror into the 2099 world, making this trip more memorable than the last. Plus, a slew of superstar artists and newcomers will help usher in this horrifying Miguel adventure.
Miguel O’Hara
It is safe to say that Miguel O’Hara has been on everyone’s mind since his memorable turn in this year’s Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. The Marvel hero is back in the pages of a new limited series where he is facing off against classic Marvel horror characters. The first issue is set to drop in January, with artist Devmalya Pramanik joining Steve Orlando. Together, the duo introduces the Marvel Zombie of 2099. This time around, Miguel O’Hara is joining up with Blade 2099 to take on this new threat to Nueva York.
Meanwhile, the preceding issues feature team-ups and takedowns with some iconic Marvel characters, including Dracula, Moon Knight 2099, Werewolf by 2099, Terror Inc., and 2099’s version of Man-Thing.
Returning to Spider-Man 2099
The Spider-Man 2099 universe has been a fan-favorite for a long time. However, it is particularly special for writer Steve Orlando. The writer calls his return to the 2099 universe a blast, especially with the chance to put Miguel O’Hara up against some iconic characters. After all, what better reality to work in than the “dark, neon projection” of our own universe.
Still, no matter what Orlando and his team have in store for Miguel, Spider-Man 2099 is up to defend his city and people. With over 30 years of cyberpunk-inspired adventures, Spider-Man 2099 is the perfect backdrop for this next adventure for Miguel. It is one not to miss.
