Capcom’s Street Fighter 6 Twitter account just shared the date for the next Street Fighter showcase event, and not only that, but it also confirmed that the event will be hosted by none other than Lil Wayne.
This is a big deal in more ways than one. First and foremost, this shows that Capcom is finally aware that it needs to up its marketing efforts specifically for the Western audience. And by the looks of things so far, Capcom is pulling out all the stops!
For previous games in the franchise, like Street Fighter V and even the legendary Street Fighter 4, Capcom mainly focused on the Japanese release of the games, with the Western market being more of an afterthought than anything else. Even so, Street Fighter 4 managed to revive the fighting game community like no one expected.
Capcom is making sure that the mistakes it made with the previous games will not be repeated with the upcoming flagship fighting title, Street Fighter 6, and this event proves it. For those that missed it, Capcom has revealed the entire roster for the game and will now give us even more details on the game.
New Street Fighter 6 Showcase Hosted by Lil Wayne, Announced
The upcoming event hosted by Lil Wayne will apparently enlighten us about many of the single-player and multiplayer content and game modes expected to be in the game at launch. Capcom is finally going all-in to the casual side of things as well, instead of only focusing on the competitive side of its fighting games.
Tune in to the #SF6Showcase for an extended final look at Street Fighter 6 with over 30 minutes of big news and announcements.

So far, during the game betas, we’ve only gotten glimpses of the World Tour mode, Battle Hub, and Fighting Ground, and the upcoming showcase will shed some more light on the plethora of other game modes Capcom has planned.
Street Fighter 6 is coming out very soon, at the beginning of June (if there are no delays) on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. Rumors suggest that before then, an open beta will take place sometime soon.
