New World is an MMORPG that features both PvP and PvE for players to engage in. While many thrive on fighting other players in small duels or large-scale wars, joining a small group and venturing through a dungeon is also a common way to play alongside others. Like many MMOs, New World has dungeons, known as expeditions in the game, that you can discover and explore with other players to progress through the game and find rare items. By the end of this guide, you will learn all of the dungeons, or expeditions, in New World and where to find them.

All Dungeons in New World and Where to Find Them

Before you can unlock your first dungeon, you must complete the main story until you start Destiny Unearthed. With this quest, you will unlock the Amrine Excavation and be tasked with venturing into it with a group of other players. For any expedition, you are required to have at least three players in a group including yourself before entering. One person in your group also needs a tuning orb to activate the expedition.

There are currently six main dungeons, or expeditions, in New World. The images below show the exact locations of each dungeon through the New World Interactive Map. The following list describes each expedition and the recommended levels for them:

Amrine Excavation – Level 25

New World Amrine

Amrine Excavation is the first expedition that you will discover through the Destiny Unearthed quest. To enter the Amrine Excavation, at least one person in your group needs an Amrine Tuning Orb. Amrine is located near Amrine temple, north of Windsward and south of Everfall. It features monsters, bosses and puzzles to complete, but is otherwise the most straightforward dungeon to complete.

Starstone Barrows – Level 35

New World Starstone

You will be introduced to Starstone Barrows shortly after completing Amrine Excavation for the first time. To enter the Starstone Barrows, at least one person in your group needs a Starstone Tuning Orb. Starstone is located at the Shattered Obelisk, north of Amrine Excavation and south of Everfall. Unlike Amrine, Starstone features instant-kill obstacles that you must avoid.

The Depths – Level 45

New World Depths

The Depths is located near Eridanus, northeast of Restless Shore and directly east of Weaver’s Fen. To enter The Depths, at least one person in your group needs a Depths Tuning Orb. You will face corrupted enemies and bosses as you venture through these underground ruins and solve the puzzles within them.

Dynasty Shipyard – Level 55

NewWorld Dynasty

Dynasty Shipyard is located near the Imperial Palace, southwest of Ebonscale Reach and northwest of Monarch’s Bluffs.  To enter the Dynasty Shipyard, at least one person in your group needs a Dynasty Tuning Orb. You will face off against numerous bosses and mini-bosses throughout it, and it is often considered the first major jump in difficulty.

Lazarus Instrumentality – Level 65

New World Lazarus

Lazarus Instrumentality is the first max-level dungeon you will encounter. It is located near the Eternal Pool and Skyview Repose, north of Reekwater. To enter the Lazarus Instrumentality, at least one person in your group needs a Lazarus Tuning Orb. It also features numerous puzzles and a couple of bosses for your group to defeat.

The Garden of Genesis – Level 65

NewWorld Garden

The Garden of Genesis is the second max-level expedition in New World and the final dungeon on this list. It is located in Edengrove, southeast of Mountainrise and west of Last Stand. To enter the Garden of Genesis, at least one person in your group needs a Genesis Tuning Orb. Similar to Lazarus, the Garden has several puzzles and numerous bosses you will need to defeat to complete the dungeon.

New World is available on PC.
