New World Guide: Where to Find Fae Iron

While exploring the dangerous New World of Aeternum, you will find yourself needing to mine for resources. There are your common metals like Silver and Iron, but there are also some rarer materials out in the world. One such rare material is Fae Iron, a material that can be a hassle to find. Despite the hassle, the metal is a very useful resource, so here are a few tips to help you find the locations to collect Fae Iron in New World!

Where in the New World is Fae Iron?

In New World, you will have to mine from Iron Veins to find Fae Iron. These Iron Veins are found in the Highlands. The Highland sections of the map are indicated as being light brown on the world map. There is also a Resource Locations chart to the left of the map that tells you where to find certain materials. Even when you find these Veins, the drop rate of the Fae Iron rate is fairly low. You will be able to collect a fair bit of Iron Ore from these Veins but to get the elusive Fae Iron, you’ll need to prepare.

How to Increase Drop Rates

To get Fae Iron to drop from Iron Veins, you will need to have increased Mining Luck. To increase your Luck, craft an uncommon Pickaxe so that it doesn’t break as easily and equip it with the Mining Luck perk. This is done by using Azoth. Azoth is a resource that, among other things, allows you to equip perks to your gear. Use Azoth to equip the “Mining Luck” perk to your pickaxe to increase the chance of having Fae Iron drop while mining. There are other ways to increase the chance of getting Fae Iron to drop. You can also level up the mining trade skill. Like the increased luck, the higher your level is in this skill, the greater chance of yielding uncommon and rare materials from mining.

Now that you know the Fae Iron locations and your gear and skills accounted for, the last thing that can help increase your chance of mining Fae Iron is using food and potions that also increase Luck. The Roasted Potatoes will buff Luck for 20 minutes along with providing a health boost, a nice bonus for your journey to the Highlands. To craft this, take one Potato, one Butter, and one Peppercorn and combine them. You can also craft a Herb-Roasted Potato that will increase Luck even more for 25 minutes. To make this, take the same ingredients for the regular Roasted Potato and add one Honey.
