There has been a lot of debate around a certain item in Amazon Game Studio’s new MMO, New World. The resource in question is known as Petrified Wood, and it is as sought after as it is rare, maybe even rarer, come to think of it. While it might not have all the answers as of now, this guide will help show you where and how to find Petrified Wood in New World.
Where to Find Petrified Wood in New World
I wish I could give you a surefire way of getting this rare material, but as of now, there seems to be no consensus on how to get Petrified Wood except through luck with trial and error. It is known that you can (keyword being can) get the material by harvesting young, mature, and dead trees throughout the game world. These can be found in abundance, but the catch is that these are random drops, and as of now, no one knows a way to get them to drop consistently. The drop is so low that fans are debating whether or not the items are currently bugged. Though that has not been confirmed or denied, either way, players are left with trying to find ways to get the elusive material as it can make some pretty good gear in New World. The only thing that can be done as of now is to increase your character’s Luck.
Some ways to improve your chances of getting the Petrified Wood is to increase your Logging Luck. This can be done in a number of ways, from wearing certain gear or crafting an ax with the “Starmetal Lumberjack’s Charm.” Every bit of extra luck counts in trying to get this low drop rate item. If you want to try your hand at cooking, there are some recipes such as Cooked Corn and Spicy Steak Pies that can give you that boost, though the corn is a low-level recipe and gives you only a small boost. The Steak Pie takes some cooking knowledge but will increase your luck by a lot. As of now, that is the only way to get Petrified Wood, it is to get very lucky through harvesting from trees, but with some help from these stat boosts, maybe you will have an easier time getting this piece of wood in New World. Good Luck!
New World is now available on PC through Steam.
