Several young Republican representatives have been under fire, and for valid reason, with Politico revealing the atrocious remarks these political leaders made in private. One government official to speak out against these disgraceful individuals is Kathy Hochul, the Governor of New York. She was asked during a conference what she thought about these “bad apples,” and the governor was quick to come back with a response that would call out not only the Republicans and their horrendous messages, but President Trump as well.
The New York Governor began by stating how the guilty individuals, William Hendrix, Bobby Walker, Peter Giunta, Joe Maligno, Annie Kaykaty, and Alex Dwyer, are the “future of the Republican Party.” Hochul continued, saying that what these men did was “so vile” that there aren’t any words to express how awful their stances are. For context, Politico reported leaked messages of these Republicans claiming they loved Hitler and encouraged gas chambers. A few made very inappropriate comments, including ones about a love for violence, sexual assault, blatant racism, and much more.
“We have a leader from the Republican Party in this State, the highest-ranking individual, who, in the backdrop of all of this, calls one of our candidates for mayor a jihadist and a terrorist and then somehow says, ‘Oh, what these Republicans said was wrong,'” Hochul said, calling out Trump. “Look at what you say yourself. Look at your inflammatory words, and maybe they have an effect on these young people, many of whom you support and have supported you. And you all just [need] to do a reexamination of how far this has gone.”
The New York politician essentially blames the Republican leadership for cultivating and instigating all this hatred and inappropriate behavior, which has now been exposed among the younger leaders, not to mention their average supporters. “Kick them out of the party. Take away their official roles,” Hochul demands, saying that there needs to be consequences for this sort of unacceptable behavior. While such legal consequences for these “vile” individuals have yet to be seen, many agree with the governor’s speech, some calling out Trump as well.

“The fish rots from the head down,” remarks a Redditor. “So nazis/fascists are now some bad apples? Because until very recently, being outed as one meant ostracism and actual legal consequences,” added another. “The future of the Republican Party? These youngsters are right in line with the current Republican Party,” a third commented.
Others said that it’s refreshing to see Hochul take a stand for these sorts of things and even call out the source of it all as well. “As a New Yorker, Iโve been pleasantly surprised by Hocul in recent months. Itโs like she suddenly had a realization that if she does popular things, people will like her more.” Hopefully, many more politicians and leaders, regardless of their party or political leaning, will take a stand against the Republican individuals’ behavior, along with some sort of suitable discipline for those involved.
