Itching to spill some new blood in Mortal Kombat X? According to the Twitter page of Ed Boon, one of the creators/developers of the series, players will not have to wait long:

Using his wonderful poetic skills, Ed Boon has revealed the next Mortal Kombat kombatant as Tanya. She will be the third released DLC character, following in the footsteps of Goro and Jason Voorhees. The other two announced characters that are yet to receive a release date are Tremor (a ninja who can manipulate the earth, in a similar vein to Sub-Zero or Scorpion) and Predator.
In the game’s story, Tanya comes from the same realm as Kitana, Sindel, and Jade. She originally seemed to be on the side of Kitana, but later revealed herself as a double agent who had been working with the evil god Shinnok all along. She has used a few different weapons throughout her history of appearances in the series, including naginatas, kobujutsus, and boomerangs, so it will be interesting to see how her fighting style fits in with the other members of the cast.
The DLC for Mortal Kombat X has come under some fire, especially from the PC camp. Missed release dates, crashes related to the DLC, and bugs in accessing the new content have all been hiccups in the road for players trying to access new fighters and downloaded skins. However, the game has received positive critical reviews and continues to see plenty of play online.
