The animosity between prominent rappers Nicki Minaj and Megan Thee Stallion has reached new heights. The feud began in 2022 when Nicki Minaj seemingly called out her colleague for encouraging her to drink alcohol while she was pregnant. Although Megan Thee Stallion denied the claims, she received criticism from fans. Since the incident, the pair’s relationship has never been the same. On Friday, tensions escalated after Megan Thee Stallion released a track that appeared to diss Nicki Minaj’s husband. Days after, Nicki Minaj dropped a diss song in response to the rapper’s track.
Megan Thee Stallion Seemingly Disses Nicki Minaj’s Husband
The feud between Nicki Minaj and Megan Thee Stallion won’t end anytime soon. On January 26, the 28-year-old intensified the rivalry with the release of her new song, Hiss. Fans believed a part of the track took a shot at Nick Minaj’s husband, Kenny Petty.
“These hoes don’t be mad at Megan, these hoes mad at Megan’s Law/I don’t really know what the problem is, but I guarantee y’all don’t want me to start/B***h, you a p***y (You a p***y),” she rapped.
The lyrics alluded to the Megan Law — the federal legal requirement that convicted sex offenders appear on a registry. Recall that in 1995, a court convicted Petty of first-degree attempted rape by force or fear. Nicki Minaj’s husband ended up serving four years behind bars. In 2021, the court sentenced the 45-year-old to a year under home confinement for failing to register as a sex offender in California.
Nicki Minaj Responds to Diss Song
Following the Hiss track’s release, Nicki Minaj went on an explosive rant. On Monday, she finally released a diss song, Bigfoot, which fired shots at the Savage crooner. Nicki Minaj’s diss song took a jab at a foot injury Megan Thee Stallion sustained after Tory Lanez shot her in the foot in 2020.
“Bad b***h, she like 6 foot/ I call her Bigfoot/ The b***h fell off / I said get up on your good foot,” Nicki Minaj rapped.
The 41-year-old didn’t stop there as she took things further on her Instagram Live. She told Megan Thee Stallion to “conjure up her dead mother and apologize” for the “disgusting lyric.”
Nicki Minaj’s reaction didn’t sit right with many fans, who believed she took things too far. In the meantime, the aftermath of this Nicki-Megan feud remains uncertain, but fans hope they will sort out their differences.
