Speaking to HollywoodLife, the star admitted her appearance on the show was a means of honoring her late pal, who famously appeared on the show as the squiggly monster before his passing in January 2022. She reflected,
“It was awesome because I just want to keep his memory alive. It’ll be a year in January since he passed, and I think everyone, when he died kind of realized the impact he had on different people that you would have never known even knew him and how special he was.”
Her memories of the late comedian admittedly overwhelmed her during her final performance on The Masked Singer, throwing her into an emotional state as viewers witnessed during the semi-finals.

Admittedly knowing how much Bob Saget loved The Masked Singer got Nikki Glaser hooked on the show. Up until her final moments on the show, the 38-year-old strived to keep the late TV host’s memory alive with every performance. Nikki admitted in her interview that the last conversation she had with Bob was about The Masked Singer, highlighting just how much they looked forward to her participation. The star divulged,
“I knew how much he loved it. I kind of talked to him in my head backstage and was just like, ‘Bob, I’m doing it. This is so silly. Wish me luck. Let’s just have fun.’ I just felt like he was there and just helped me get through it.”
Nikki Glaser also reflected on the legacy of Bob Saget and the lasting impact he made on everyone around him. According to her, anyone would be lucky to have people talk about them posthumously the way they did Bob. Riding on his existing legacy and influence on the show; she chose to embrace her chance to bring him up during her final showdown with The Lambs.
Notably, the comedian never regretted her decision to honor Bob. Not only did her appearance on the show help her discover her passion for singing, but it also unveiled her long-existing vocal chord damage, pushing her to undergo surgery. She now deems herself fully equipped to switch her gears slightly towards a music career in the coming years.
