If you were expecting Switch 2 news, Nintendo has pulled a fast one on you and has announced an interactive alarm clock called Alarmo. In an alarming turn of events, the clock will play sounds based on memorable Nintendo games, which is the ideal way for any gamer to wake up in the morning.
What makes Nintendo’s alarm clock interactive is that it reacts to body movements and plays sounds accordingly. Unlike a normal alarm clock, you can snooze the alarm with gestures or stop it by getting out of bed. If that is too much, a button will also do the job.
Nintendo’s Alarmo watches the movements of users throughout the night and keeps a record. All these bells and whistles will set you back $99.99 when Nintendo’s alarm clock comes out in early 2025. You can watch a video below that will give you a rundown of all its features.
Those who are subscribed to Nintendo Online in the US and Canada can purchase Alarmo right now through the My Nintendo Store or through physical stores. Those in Europe will be able to buy the device in a few days if they are subscribed to Nintendo Online.
Nintendo promises that the alarm clock will continue to improve and get more sounds with free updates in the future. But at launch, users will be able to pick from 35 scenes based on Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Splatoon 3, Pikmin 4, and Ring Fit Adventure.
Although this is interesting, it is far from what fans want to find out right now. Nintendo Switch users are dying for any official news on the sequel of the handheld console, and the leaks we’ve seen so far are very encouraging. The new device should be as powerful as a PlayStation 4 Pro, with a similar form factor as the Switch itself with some improvements.
