Nioh 2 just went through an open beta aimed at getting feedback on the game for its developers. Judging from a report released by Team Ninja, they not only got that feedback but are endeavoring to work on everything that was pointed out.
According to the posted survey results, the good news is 83 percent reported a positive experience. 11 percent said the Nioh 2 beta was average. Just six percent of respondents came away with a negative feeling.
The company wasn’t just looking for how people felt after playing the Nioh 2 open beta though. Team Ninja also went out of its way to find out what worked best and what needed work.
It should surprise nobody the list of problems was long. It’s still quite impressive the dev team seems to be taking the suggestions to heart.
Under the “key areas to be addressed” there are issues that have to do with everything from player and enemy action to how the tutorial behaves. The feedback Team Ninja is taking into account ranges from broad improvements on the background graphics, to just how minute the details can be when using the character creator.
The tutorial and UI were big sticking points for those who answered the open beta surveys. Both only got a 66 percent positive rating and were the two worst-rated aspects of the game.
Game progression was liked only a little bit better, with 68 percent coming away with a positive vibe. Team Ninja doesn’t have a ton of time to get everything ironed out.
The full game is due to launch in just a few months. It will be among a massive spate of games that are set to release just before the spring.
Nioh 2 is slated to be released exclusively for the PS4 on March 12, 2020, and has the honor of being one of the final Sony exclusives of this generation of consoles.
