Ohio Gubernatorial Candidate Amy Acton Says Vivek Ramaswamy Moved His Business to Texas, Strive CEO Fires Back: ‘That Was My Decision’

Amy Acton is drawing backlash after posting a short video tying Vivek Ramaswamy to a business move from Ohio to Texas. In the clip shared Saturday on X, the Democratic nominee for Ohio governor flashes a thumbs-down gesture and adds, “Go Bucks.” The post quickly sparked a heated online response, with critics questioning the claim and others defending the jab as a campaign-trail attack.

The video shows Acton standing indoors in a navy suit, looking into the camera and holding a thumbs-down, horns-down gesture. In the clip, she says, “Ramaswamy moved his business to Texas,” then, “Go Bucks.”

The post does not name the company. Public reporting has previously described Strive, the investment firm Ramaswamy founded in Columbus, as later relocating its headquarters to Dallas. Strive CEO Matt Cole later replied that he made that decision after Ramaswamy had already left his executive role, a claim the video itself does not address. It is not clear from the clip when or where it was recorded.

What People Are Saying About the Texas Jab

The sharpest response focused on whether Acton’s claim was accurate. Cole wrote, “Sorry, Dr. Acton, you’re lying about this again. I’m the CEO and decided to move to TX. That was my decision, not Vivek’s.”

Other users echoed that point, with one calling it a “provable lie” and another posting, “LIAR!”

A second group focused on how the clip looked. One commenter wrote, “Ma’am, you need to put the bottle down,” and another described the video as “unhinged.”

A smaller set of replies treated the post as a fair attack on Ramaswamy. One user wrote, “Please yeet this scammer out of Ohio! Back to Texas he goes!”

The clip is now just another fight in Ohio’s governor’s race. Acton and Ramaswamy have been arguing for months over jobs and whether he can talk about keeping businesses in Ohio after his old company left for Texas.
