A Kia dealership messed with the wrong person when it decided to be a little shifty in how it chose to service one particular customer and her Kia K5. Weeks after she drove out of the lot with her new vehicle, the Taylor Kia of Lima in Ohio did some digging on the woman and determined that her income wasn’t enough “to substantiate a loan in the requested amount,” according to The Drive. Unfortunately for her, the dealer decided to repossess her car, but this isn’t the end of the story.
The woman did her own background check on the Taylor Kia of Lima and discovered that the business’s name had yet to be properly registered. So, she took the name, meaning she legally owns the name of the dealership that took back her Kia K5. But she didn’t stop there; she’s now taking legal action against the dealer and using her ownership of its name as leverage. While the court case is still in the works, there’s no denying that this woman is not someone you want to mess with!
The woman’s boldness to fight back and gain an advantage over the dealership trying to repossess her car has Reddit shouting her praises from the rooftops. “Lmao [this is] the ultimate revenge,” laughs a commenter. “‘Take my car because you want to be shady piece of s**t? I’ll take your business.'” Another person agreed, “This takes petty revenge to a whole nother level. It’s actually pretty impressive.” Besides the woman’s outstanding move, many also felt the dealership was in the wrong anyhow, so this punishment is quite fitting. “They deserve it. They knew they were doing something shady.”
To be clear, though, she doesn’t exactly own the business but rather the rights to the name of the dealership. The whole legal battle on whether she can gain control over them has yet to be determined. Still, one thing’s for sure: “Whoever was in charge of renewing the business name registration probably got hell for this.”
