Without gear or a base in Once Human, your survival odds are probably in the negative. But don’t panic just yet. You will fall into the terrifying post-apocalyptic world of Once Human with nothing, but you can hunt down all the resources and crafting materials you need to survive anything. Whether monsters, the elements, or hostile fellow survivors lurking in PvP, loading up your inventory should be one of your main goals.
All Materials & Resources in Once Human
Undoubtedly, Once Human has a massive world, and while several resources are plentiful, others can be tougher to track down. And you’ll need as much as you can. Resources are used up for just about everything, from constructing a base to crafting gear. But you can carry quite a bit. Even though you must watch your weight capacity, most materials don’t weigh much. So, become a loot goblin. Everything will come in handy at some point.
Another important note: as a live-service experience, the materials in Once Human more than likely won’t stay the same. There can be additions (or even removals). So, look out for changes thanks to updates or server wipes.
Now, let’s check out the type of resources you can hunt down:
- Gathering
- Mining
- Smelting
- Disassembling
Gatherable Materials
Much of the resources you’ll find by looting the world around you. So, be sure to spam your Pulse ability. Typically, it’s defaulted to the “Q” key, but of course, you can bind it to whatever key you will better remember.
The table below includes all the materials you can gather in Once Human while out and about.

Smelted Materials in Once Human
You’ll refine much of the raw materials you find in Once Human into additional resources, and with good reason. This will earn you even more useful items to make surviving a little bit easier. To do any smelting, you need a Furnace (build cost 20 Copper Ore and 30 Gravel). Once you have one, be sure you have the right resources to break down to get what new materials you need.

Disassembled Materials
Once Human proves it’s beneficial to hoard junk or any other item you can’t find a use for. When you do, you can disassemble it all for better resources. You must build a Disassembly Bench for 10 Copper Ingots and 20 Gravel. From there, you can head to it and disassemble all your scrap junk. You won’t need it for anything else, so feel free to dump it all.
Below is a general list of materials you can expect to get when you disassemble the random scrap you gather:
- Acid*
- Adhesive
- All-Purpose Plastic
- Automatic Part
- Bulletproof Fiber Fabric
- Carbon Fiber Fabric
- Cotton Fiber
- Electronics Accessory
- Electronic Parts
- Engineering Plastic
- Fireproof Plastic
- Metal Scraps
- Metallic Fiber
- Refined Parts
- Rubber
- Rusted Parts
- Shabby Fabric
- Special Plastic
- Special Part
- Standard Parts
- Waste Plastic
*Acid is also a droppable item from enemies. There’s a good chance you’ll find more Acid from enemy drops than using the Disassembly Bench.
Once Human presents numerous resources and materials for your survival needs. If you’re still struggling to land some items, consider playing with friends or finding someone friendly enough to allow you access to their storage crate to get some of their items. Anything helps so you survive to see another day.
