Of the many weapon customizations you can have in Once Human, what makes the Hammer Compensator different? It’s a muzzle piece that helps pack a massive punch against enemies. It’s located far away, in a high-level area, but it is one of the few things you can find in the game that requires no fighting. It’s completely worth going out of your way when you realize that it also has the best recoil reduction for some incredibly high-powered automatic weapons.
Solving the Balloon Riddle
The first place you need to head to is the northern Red Sands area at (6192, -595). The area is listed as being for those Level 48 and above. Realistically, this is the last part of Red Sands that is unlocked before the story tasks start leaning toward the Blackheart Region area.
After arriving at the coordinates, in a field of windmills, take a look around for a balloon — yes, a balloon. It will be eggshell white with a string that looks more like several Deviant hands grabbing onto one another. After spotting it, all you need to do is shoot at it. You’ll know you’ve hit it if it disappears and teleports somewhere nearby. You need to shoot at it a total of three times before a short cutscene appears, showing you where a loot crate can be found.
The crate will be similar to a blue and black cube, with the text Riddle Spot Loot Crate written above it. After opening it, you will be awarded several rewards, including the Hammer Compensator. All of the rewards include:
- 1,500 Energy Links.
- Six Stellar Planula.
- One Hammer Compensator.
- One Controller.
What Does the Hammer Compensator Do?
The Hammer Compensator is a weapon accessory specifically for the muzzle. It can be equipped with SOCR, KAM, KVD, and MG4 Series weapons. It provides your weapon with the following stat boosts:
- +9 Accuracy
- +19 Stability
Unfortunately, as an accessory, it doesn’t add any additional power to your weapon since that can only be done by upgrading it. These stats can be felt when you’re shooting without aiming or if you’re shooting in the third person. If you’ve switched out to first-person mode, then you won’t notice much.
