Although Dead Rising 4 has been subjected to timed exclusivity for the Xbox One this December, PlayStation users are about to getย a big, albeit undead,ย surprise. Developer Capcom will soon be releasing the original Dead Risingย for the PlayStation 4. Right now, it is unclear on whether or notย itย will be a direct re-release orย a remastered versionย of the game. Thisย news comes in the wake of the firstย gameย receiving a completeย listย of PS4 trophies, as was recently reported by Exophase. The site is well-known forย updating trophy lists when a game is nearing its impending release date. Therefore, long-time PlayStation gamers couldย be getting their first real dose of Dead Risingโsย famed protagonist, Frank West, sooner rather than later.

Dead Risingย is anย open-world survival horror game, and the first one was releasedย back in August 2006. The game introduces us toย photojournalist Frank West, a man who is always looking for the next ‘big scoop.’ Unlucky for Frank, however,ย his curiosityย quickly lands him in the fictional town of Willamette, Colorado where he becomes trappedย in a shopping mall that is infested with zombies. As West, the player has to use a wideย variety of weapons and quick thinking to not only protect themselves and ward off a large number of zombies but to also save West’sย fellow survivors and tryย to uncover the outbreakโs cause.
Dead Risingย is one of Xboxโs most successful franchises, and the first game has been a wildly popular title among fans since its console release ten years ago. This news of the original Dead Rising coming to PlayStation is a first. It will open the franchise up to an entirely new audience of gamers, namely all of the exclusive PlayStation users who have had little to no experience with playing the game.
