In the spirit of Halloween horror, Red Barrels has just announced the release of Outlast 2 for 2016. The teaser trailer is short and doesn’t reveal much, but it has a chilling tone, especially when the night vision is brought up. Aside from the teaser trailer, no other information has currently been released. Red Barrels did offer this description which accompanied their YouTube teaser trailer for Outlast 2:
“No conflict is ever black and white. But once the dust has settled, the victors get to decide who was right and who was wrong. Who is good and who is evil. Human nature pushes us to extremes of violence and depravity, which we then justify by divine inspiration and a promise of paradise to come. Horror rises from desperation and blind faith. OUTLAST 2 will test your faith, pushing players to a place where going mad is the only sane thing to do.”
Outlast 2 will have new characters along with a new setting and we’ll also see the return of the night vision camera, which is hinted in the teaser. This title is a sequel to the 2013 survival-horror Outlast which was voted one of the best games of E3 and also “Most Likely to Make You Faint.” The new release is listed for Fall 2016, just in time for next Halloween.
