A video has been circulating on the internet for the last day featuring a restaurant in Florence, South Carolina, kicking out a popular food critic from their restaurant for recording indoors.
The entire situation was captured on camera and posted to various social media platforms, including YouTube, where commenters jumped into the replies to share their opinions, many condemning the restaurant for its actions.
The above video was posted by popular food critic Ben-a-critic, who is featured attempting the grand opening of Percy & Willie’s in Florence, South Carolina, to film a review. You can see that he is able to get a table and even order a few things before the manager asks him to meet him at the front door.
After inquiring why, he was informed that he was being asked to leave. That same manager then asks for someone to call the police. According to the manager, the restaurant does not allow video or photography. At this, Ben-a-critic responds with, “Okay, then why didn’t you just say ‘no video’? I would have stopped video.”
At one point, the argument spills out into the parking lot, where various other people, including a person who claims to be the owner, close in on Ben, with some even putting their hands on him.
At this, Ben explains, “This right here i a picture of the owner of Percy and Willie’s, grabbing on me after I asked them not to touch me 30,000 times. Him and the manager got a touching problem. I felt very uncomfortable in this situation. I was surrounded by a lot of angry men, and they all had pocket knives.”
