Outriders, the upcoming RPG shooter from publisher Square Enix, just received a new release date trailer. The game had a launch window of Holiday 2020 before COVID-19. Now though, it has a definitive release date of February 2, 2021. The mostly cinematic trailer showcases the game’s evolutionary nature when it comes to characters and gameplay. People Can Fly, the studio responsible for Gears of War: Judgment and Bulletstorm, is developing Outriders. Square Enix revealed the title at E3 2019 while People Can Fly revealed it would be coming to both current and next-gen consoles in February. Outriders follows a group of humans attempting to colonize the alien planet Enoch. While searching for a mysterious signal, the player will be caught in an energy storm called “The Anomaly”. This storm will grant superpowers to the player and the citizens of Enoch. As the above trailer states, survival demands aggression. It supports single-player or co-op with up to 2 other players.
