Renowned indie game publisher of Trine 4, Modus Games, has today announced that everyone’s favorite giant robot brawler, Override, is making a comeback in the form of Override 2: Super Mech League. The game takes place seven years after the Xenotype invaders have been defeated, and the giant Mechs used to defend the planet have sat gathering dust until someone figures out they have another use. Players will start as a rookie pilot for one of these repurposed war machines, making their way through the ranks and representing their club all the way. There are over 20 playable mechs, including newcomers and returning fan favorites from the previous game, each with unique abilities, playstyles, and ultimate moves.
Playing through Override 2’s career mode, you’ll be earning influence and rewards to take the title of best mech pilot. There will also be a variety of multiplayer game modes, including competitive ranked 1v1s, team-based games, and Xenoswarm. All of these take place in arenas that come with their own set of hazards, including dynamic elements like geysers and lava pools. This adds a whole new layer of strategy that influences the outcome of the rumble, in contrast to the first title. You can unlock heaps of cosmetic items and attachments for your mech which can be equipped in the garage, giving you near endless customization options! It’s not all competitive play, however, as you can group up with three other players in co-op game modes, either locally or online.
Override 2: Super Mech League is available with a Deluxe Edition, which includes extra features such as a Season Pass, exclusive ULTRAMAN cosmetics for your mechs as well as four iconic mechs from the Netflix series. It will be available on the current generation of consoles and also the next generation, as well as on Steam and Nintendo Switch. Pre-orders are available now at $39.99 or £24.99.
