How to Get (& Use) Shimmerfin in Palia

Something shimmering on the scales

In Palia, you’re only ever one cast of the rod away from a scrumptious fish fillet. Filling your stomach (and Focus) is already a good reason to sink your hook in the waters around Kilima, but some fish are worth a pretty penny, too. With dozens of unique fish to catch in this cozy game, the life of an angler is a busy one, even if fisherfolk don’t get shot at the way they do in Once Human. If you’ve already finished Cooking 101 for Reth, you’re well on your way to cooking up your first big catch. Here are all the tips you need to find and catch a Shimmerfin in Palia.

Where to Find Shimmerfin in Palia

To find Shimmerfin in Palia, you must head to Kilima Village and fish in the local lake, aka Fisherman’s Lagoon. Luckily, you can catch this fish at any time of the day, just like the Cutthroat Trout. As for bait, you should use Worms. If you choose the No Bait or Glow Worm options, this fish will not bite. Here are some other useful tips for the Shimmerfin:

  • Buy Worms from the General Store for 10g a piece
  • Use the Shimmerfin to unlock the Magic Bundle
  • Sell excess Shimmerfin that you don’t need for cooking

Although the best place to fish for Shimmerfin is a small wooden pier off the north coast of Fisherman’s Lagoon, we recommend fishing in areas with water ripples. Of course, water ripples do not guarantee a rarer or more specific catch. Still, you have a better chance of catching Quality fish. Once you reach Fishing Level 4, you can purchase a Worm Farm recipe from Einar to make your fishing outings even more profitable. Zeki likes that.
