Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are teaming up with CharityBuzz to give fans what they really want: a fancy dinner with the Sussexes, for a fee, of course. Forking over around $100,000 will grant one person a seat at the dinner table with the ex-royals, according to Daily Mail. A source claims that “People will pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to have dinner with them.” Where such people are so eager to eat with two of the arguably most disliked “royals” remains to be seen, but the collab with CharityBuzz means the funds will go to a good cause.

Namely, the hundreds of thousands of dollars that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle would be paid by these dinner attendees would go to their personal charity, the Archewell Foundation. Considering Harry’s relationship with some of the members of his Invictus charity is rather questionable, many are quite skeptical that this so-called “charity dinner” for Archewell might not be as charitable as it might appear.

Now H&M are LITERALLY selling themselves. I'm shocked, simply shocked, I tell you!

First off, as one Redditor points out, participating in this sort of charity event would be in direct violation of the Sandringham Agreement, which is also one of the reasons the former Prince Andrew got in trouble for. They would be essentially selling access to themselves, and 100% of the “donations” would have to be given to charity, the Redditor argues. “Rent a Duke/Douchess monetising titles and access to themselves… no doubt MLM Markle will be pimping her brand out at that event too,” remarks another.

One commenter pointed out that it’s “pathetic” to claim the funds will go to charity for the Archewell Foundation. Allegedly, critics believe that a large chunk of the donations Harry and Meghan receive can be used for “expenses” for the charity, while only a small percentage actually goes to a cause. “So basically it’s an income stream for them,” the user concludes. “They should be ashamed.” “Now H&M are LITERALLY selling themselves. I’m shocked, simply shocked, I tell you!” sarcastically exclaims another.

Harry has seemingly been on a “rent-a-prince” streak as well, with all the events and special appearances he’s been attending, such as the bizarre no-cameras real estate seminar in Canada. Both he and his wife are taking every chance they can get to sell themselves for the sake of their PR, and now this $100K dinner surely takes the cake. However, if they wish to keep the public from possibly criticizing where the money goes, it’s high time they have a third party audit Archewell’s income. Otherwise, the controversy will continue, not like there aren’t enough the Sussexes have anyway.
