Phantom Abyss has today launched its July 2 update, and here’s everything that’s been changed and added with this patch. If you aren’t already aware, Phantom Abyss has been suffering from serious disconnection issues, ending people’s runs and sending their relics to purgatory. Thankfully, the majority of those issues should now be corrected! Keep in mind though that some will still be left standing naturally after this patch, and that the team is well aware and working on tackling the rest. Without further adieu, here’s everything that’s been changed with the July 2 update for Phantom Abyss!
Phantom Abyss July 2 Update Patch Notes
- LOTS of disconnection issues have been fixed.
- Major issues of disconnecting between floors, and disconnecting claiming a relic should now be fixed!
- There is one edge case disconnection issue that we’re aware of that will be fixed soon.
- Fixed whips not appearing for purchase
- Fixed keys not appearing in large chests sometimes
- Fixed some colours in the caverns and inferno
- Fixed the eye of agnoy not actually upgrading as he gets angrier
- Fixed the Twitch whip appearing when it shouldn’t
- Updated safe fall animation
- Keys in the relic rooms for caverns and inferno are a bit more difficult to find/reach. (they still contain the same amount of keys though!)
- Fixed shrines to give blessings properly (shouldn’t brag about your MANY blessings as much)
- Players can no longer use share codes from older game versions (this causes problems)
- Victory screen now correctly tells you the keys you earned in a run
- Fixed a whole bunch of misc level issues
- Improved performance
This is a fairly small patch but, like said, it has a massive impact on games. While admittedly watching my friend lose his favorite whip offers endless laughs, it really isn’t great for the state of the game. Having these disconnection issues removed, alongside many other issues plaguing the game, is definitely a good thing for the future of Phantom Abyss. The team is now looking towards getting feedback on changes, additions, and removals they can make going forward, including the incredibly hyped next level being added to the game down the line.
Phantom Abyss is currently available on PC through Steam. If you’d like more details regarding these patch notes, check out the official blog post.
