Fleabag is going on an adventure
Content creating genius Phoebe Waller-Bridge is set to be the female lead in the next chapter in the Indy series, Indiana Jones 5. Deadline is reporting that James Mangold and Lucasfilm are looking to add Fleabag herself to co-star with Harrison Ford. James Mangold has also taken over as director from previous director, Steven Spielberg, who will remain on as a producer. Shooting for the next chapter is set for this summer, with plans on releasing it in the summer of 2022. James Mangold’s highlight, at least for me, is Logan. The best black & white comic book film you will ever see. The franchise should be in great hands.
Phoebe Waller-Bridge
Phoebe Waller-Bridge is best known for her sharply dark television show, Fleabag. Killing Eve & Crashing are usually her two other shows you watch after Fleabag. You don’t have to, obviously, but after seeing Fleabag, you’re forced to see what else she can deliver.
Before this news broke today, there was a report that Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Donald Glover will be in a reboot of Mr. & Mrs. Smith. Amazon is leading the charge here, turning it into a series as opposed to keeping it a movie. Which I really appreciate cause I have always felt that you have more ground to play with when you’re dealing with an episodic. With movies, you only really get a handful of hours to play with, but both Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Donald Glover will also be executive producers for the Mr. & Mrs. Smith series as well. Nice.
My big intrigue with this news is if she will be involved creatively. I know she did some rewrites for the most recent bond movie, No Time to Die, and as mentioned before, she is not only great on screen but she is even better on the page. I have the Fleabag pilot ready to read. Maybe now is the best time to get to it.
