After a whole slew of upcoming games coming to PS5, Sony has been paying close attention to all of their services lately. To update everything’s design to the modern and sleek look of the next-generation PlayStation, we’ve seen them make changes to PS Plus and now a mobile app. The smartphone gaming platform is becoming impossible to ignore, with high-quality titles seeing console and mobile growth, such as the recent Genshin Impact. While Microsoft has showcased its new and improved Xbox app user interface, we have finally gotten a glimpse at what the next generation app will allow users to do. As showcased in a tweet this morning, PlayStation offered some new details and updated ideas that will be coming to the app.

Right off the bat, the updated look is so much cleaner than the boxy original interface. One thing many users of past mobile iterations will notice social integration. Before, Sony required users to download a separate PS Messages app in order to check their friend’s list. The updated look gives players a quick check-in on their friends thanks to the top pull-tab that reveals who’s online in your friend’s lists. Accessing messages and checking on your friends to see who’s available for a match or a chat is very versatile. The other tabs are easily explainable, with one to check your library of games, buy and download games in the PlayStation store tab and even check out all the latest news coming to PlayStation. The app is currently being updated to all mobile market stores later today. The app is available on devices supporting either IOS 12.2 or Android 6.0. With more features set to come when PS5 launches in just a few weeks, the new and upgraded app is a great companion to those wanting an easy check-in on all your PlayStation needs.
