Sony has announced that the PC release of Ghost of Tsushima will be getting PlayStation trophies, which has never happened before for any PC ports. Sony has steadily added more and more exclusives to the PC, and this may be the beginning of all of the other ports getting trophy support down the line as well.
People who are avid trophy hunters can simply sign into their PSN accounts on their PCs, and then track their trophy progress like normal. The trophies will be no different than their PlayStation counterparts, so this will make getting more Platinums a lot easier if you don’t just play on the PlayStation 5.
Whether this will count towards PlayStation Stars is yet to be seen, along with the difference between PS4 trophies and PS5 trophies. That is assuming the change is retroactive and will include a lot more titles than just Ghost of Tsushima.
PlayStation is Adding Trophies To Ghost Of Tsushima On PC With a PlayStation Overlay
Ghost of Tsushima comes out on PC on May 16, and it will include a new PC overlay with the Director’s Cut of the game. The new PlayStation Overlay is making its debut with Ghost of Tsushima, and it will allow you to access your Friends list, Trophies, Profile, and more. It will be similar to how the Steam overlay works but can be accessed using Shift + F1 on the keyboard.
The good news is that if you’re playing Ghost of Tsushima, not only will you be able to collect your PlayStation trophies, but Steam achievements as well. How smoothly it will work remains to be seen. And keep in mind that if you don’t own a PlayStation console, you can still make a free account and track your trophies like normal.
Hopefully, these features will make their way onto other PlayStation games that were ported to PC like God of War Ragnarok, The Last of Us, Horizon Forbidden West, and Spider-Man Remastered.
