This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information.

Misdreavus is a ghost-type Pokémon exclusive to Pokémon Shining Pearl, meaning those who only own Brilliant Diamond will need to trade for it with another player. To catch a Misdreavus, players will need to go to either the Grand Underground or Dazzling Cave, where it has a 15-25% spawn rate. However, some players have also been able to find Misdreavus at night in the Eterna Forest. Bear in mind that the Pokémon’s chance to spawn is still quite low, so players might need to revisit the area several times. Once Misdreavus has been caught or obtained through trading, Pokémon BDSP players can evolve it into Mismagius.

To evolve Misdreavus in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl, players need a special item known as a Dusk Stone. Pokémon BDSP fans can obtain this stone within Bogsunk Cavern, a large hideaway located southeast of the Grand Underground. To reach the cavern, go underground at the southern beach on Route 213 or travel underground from Sunyshore City.

Players who have yet to access the Grand Underground in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl will need to go to Eterna City, the town where the second Gym Leader can be found. Within Eterna City, enter the house next to the Pokémon Center. Inside, Pokémon BDSP fans will meet an NPC named the Underground Man, who will provide players with Explorer’s Kit. With this kit, players will now have access to the Grand Underground.

Alternatively, Pokémon BDSP fans can also evolve Misdreavus with a Dusk Stone located in Victory Road. However, this stone can only be acquired once the Elite Four have been defeated and the National Dex has been upgraded. Additionally, the Team Galactic Warehouse also holds a Dusk Stone. To obtain it, players must beat Commander Jupiter at Lake Acuity. Upon her defeat, she will drop the key to the Team Galactic Warehouse in Veilstone City.

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl are available on Nintendo Switch.
