One of the biggest draws to the Pokemon games is, and always has been, how collectible all the “pocket monsters” are. In a neat twist of fate, some of that “gotta catch ’em all” spirit has transferred into the real world, making Pokemon merchandise some of the most collectable items in the entire world. From Funko Pops to 18-karat Pikachus made by Tiffany & Co., it’s not surprising that die-hard Pokemon collectors would have entire rooms dedicated to their merchandise collections. And if that room needs some furniture, then they’re in luck: Pokemon has once again teamed up with Cellutane to make a chair themed after Sizzlipede.

The Sizzlipede Chair Is Here, Just in Time for the Holidays

Have you ever thought that Sizzlipede looks like a comfy Pokémon whose back you'd like to relax on?! Well, if so, Japanese furniture company Cellutane has something special for you! This Sizzlipede chair is now on sale in Japan!🔥🐛More photos below!👇 pic.twitter.com/v0fxx3VcS3

First introduced in Gen 8, Sizzlipede is a Fire/Bug type Pokemon that evolves into Centiskorch. Its long, flat body is apparently ideal for a chair design, according to Japanese furniture designer Cellutane. As part of a new collaboration with Pokemon, the company has released a plush, adjustable Sizzlipede-themed chair. The chair has at least four modes, going from ninety degrees sitting upright to reclining completely flat if you feel like taking a nap on top of a Pokemon.

If you’re a fan of the Sizzlipede chair, you’ll be pleased to know this isn’t Cellutane’s first collaboration with Pokemon. The company has also released giant, overstuffed armchairs shaped like Ditto, Gengar, Snorlax, and Rowlet, along with a beanbag chair shaped like Slowpoke and footrests shaped like plush Pokemon balls.

The one downside to the Sizzlipede chair is that for now, it’s only able to ship inside of Japan, so international Pokemon fans are out of luck. It’s possible to route your package through a third-party company, of course, but that’s a matter of personal preference. Cellutane hasn’t announced any international shipping plans yet, but it’s possible they’ll open the Sizzlipede chair to the world in time for the holidays.
