Each season of the Pokemon Go Battle League comes with a selection of special cups that change the regulations and force players to reconsider their strategy. In addition to the classic, well-known Great League, Ultra League, and Master League, Pokemon Go’s Fossil Cup is the newest addition to the table. This unique challenge follows the Adventure Week event’s fossil theme. It is also restricted to Pokemon of the Water, Steel, and Rock types. The finest Pokemon and their ideal movesets are listed here to assist you in getting the best team possible for Pokemon Go’s Fossil Cup, especially if you’re having trouble deciding which Pokemon to use!

Best Team for Pokemon Go’s Fossil Cup

Pokemon Go Fossil Cup Best Team

As all of the Pokemon used will be of the Water, Steel, and Rock types, these are the best guys in Pokemon Go to use for the Fossil Cup:

  1. Registeel
  2. Lucario
  3. Ferrothorn

Registeel Build for the Fossil Cup

It’s no wonder that Registeel jumps to the top of the rankings here with strong defenses and a great number of type resistances. It is resistant to two of the three types that are eligible for the Fossil Cup: Steel and Rock.

For Registeel to function at its peak, Lock-On is required. It should also use Zap Cannon, an excellent but pricey Charged Move. Just be wary of Water-types.

Lucario Build for the Fossil Cup

Lucario is an excellent complement to any squad. It has an advantage over some of the top competitors in the Fossil Cup, including Registeel, Ferrothorn, and Araquanid.

Choose Counter as it is typically the greatest Fast Move for any Pokemon with access to it. Then, Power-Up Punch for shield-baiting, along with a helpful Attack bonus.

Ferrothorn Build for the Fossil Cup

Ferrothorn is not only big but also possesses one of the greatest elements for the Fossil Cup. Being mostly Steel-type means it has few vulnerabilities, while being partially Grass-type gives it a significant edge over the dominant Water and Rock-types in the meta.

Bullet Seed is the ideal Fast Move option in this situation due to its tremendous energy output. Thunder provides some additional coverage versus other Steel-types.

If you also want to take part in the Fossil Cup, Pokemon GO is available on iOS and Android.
