While many players continue to explore new Party Play mechanics, Halloween celebrations in Pokemon Go are gaining momentum. It seems that ghosts have taken over everything from raid gyms to PokéStops and the game’s wildlife, but this is only to your advantage. Eventually, even Spiritomb Timed Research will reward you with encounters with nine different Ghost Pokemon in Pokemon Go. This event-exclusive timed research starts on October 19th and runs until the end of the month, and luckily, you won’t have to spend too much effort to complete it.

Despite the overall ghostly theme of the Halloween event in Pokemon Go, Spiritomb Timed Research is dedicated to Spiritomb, the mischievous pocket monster you will receive as your final reward. As legend has it, Spiritomb appeared by combining 108 different Ghost Pokemon and was later bound to an Odd Keystone. This pocket monster was a terrible mischief and brought a lot of problems to many people and Pokemon, for which it was imprisoned. But now, you must complete nine thematic tasks to free Spiritomb and add it to your Pokédex.

TaskReward
Earn 1,080 StardustMisdreavus
Earn 1,080 XPYamask
Make 108 Nice ThrowsPumpkaboo
Make 108 Curveball ThrowsPhantump
Use 108 Berries to help catch PokemonShuppet
Earn 10,800 XPLitwick
Spin 8 PokéStops or GymsGastly
Spin 10 PokéStops or GymsDrifloon
Final RewardSpiritomb
108 XP
108 Stardust

Why You Should Complete Spiritomb Limited Research

Fortunately, having become your companion, Spiritomb will not be the same mischievous it was at the time of his creation. In contrast, it will become your ally in battles against Normal and Psychic-type Pokemon. On the other hand, you can keep it as a bargaining chip for trading with players who missed out on such a profitable Timed Research.

Another advantage of this Timed Research is the ability to catch Phantump. After all, two years after the release of this Pokemon during Halloween 2021, it finally received a shiny version. The 2023 Halloween celebration is the first opportunity to obtain this Ghost Shiny Pokemon and evolve it into Shiny Trevenant. Of course, you can meet this Pokemon in the wild. But given the chances of getting a Shiny, any additional encounter is worth its weight in gold.
