“The Sea’s Legend” is one of the most complex quests in Pokemon Legends: Arceus, yet it is also one of the most rewarding and fun to complete. The quest’s title and objective refer to an easter egg, a book called “The Sea’s Legend” within the Canalave Library of Pokemon BDSP. To encounter what the story alludes to as the “Sea Prince,” players must gather three specific Pokemon into their party and travel to one particular spot in Hisui. Once these conditions have been met, the legendary Pokemon Manaphy will reveal its location, summoning the player to a battle.

To unlock “The Sea’s Legend” Request, Trainers first must attain Star Rank 5 and begin the 11th mission in the main campaign, “Scaling Perilous Heights.” They also need to have the three required Pokémon — Buizel, Mantyke, and Hisuian Qwilfish — recorded in their Pokédex. Players must then head to the pincer rock formation at Sand’s Reach in Cobalt Coastlands.

Buizel is a relatively common Pokemon found within multiple locations within the Obsidian Fieldlands. Next, Mantyke reside in the large central bay of the Cobalt Coastlands. Finally, Hisuian Qwilfish can be encountered near Mantyke’s habitat or near Lunker’s Lair to the north of Cobalt Coastlands.

While Hisuian Qwilfish is required to be in the player’s Pokédex, they must catch a wild Overqwil or evolve one from their Qwilfish to progress the quest. This evolution will occur once Qwilfish has used Barb Barrage’s Strong Style 20 times. Once Trainers have Overqwil, they can accept “The Sea’s Legend” from the blackboard in Galaxy Hall if they haven’t already.

Manaphy is located in a hidden cave called Seaside Hollow in the Cobalt Coastlands. This location will appear on the map and become accessible once players have ridden Basculegion between the rocky pincers at Sand’s Reach during the evening. Trainers will encounter several Phione within the cave as well.
