Get ready to say ‘Alola’! Modeled after the most recent entries in the video game franchise, Pokémon TCG: Sun & Moon will welcome players to the series’ seventh generation. The latest expansion to the Pokémon Trading Card Game will take players to the sunny and tropical Alola region. New booster packs of 10 random cards from the expansion will be available on February 3rd, 2017. These packs will sell at popular retailers for the standard price of $3.99 USD. New players can also select from three theme decks of 60 preconstructed cards that will introduce them to the game. The design of the Pokémon TCG: Sun & Moon expansion will reflect the exotic and beautiful art of the Pokémon Sun & Moon.

As always, the new starter Pokémon Rowlet, Litten, and Popplio will headline a list of 140 new cards. More than 40 creatures from Pokémon Sun & Moon will make an appearance in the trading card expansion. This roster includes brand-new Alolan variations of classic Pokémon that will sport a new look and special abilities. Pokémon TCG: Sun & Moon introduces 11 Pokemon-GX, which are “super-powered Pokémon” with attacks so powerful that players can only use one during a single match. Pokémon Sun & Moon‘s legendaries, Solgaleo and Lunala will join the TCG as Pokémon-GX. Pokémon TCG: Sun & Moon theme decks and booster packs will include codes that also unlock virtual cards in the Pokémon Trading Card Game Online.

The Pokémon series has gone through some evolutions of its own since it began. The release of Pokémon Sun & Moon were highly anticipated and delivered many changes to the familiar formula of the games. The company’s altered reality app Pokémon Go recently began its expansion into the second generation of monsters. It won’t be too long before players can make real-world adventures with the Pokémon of Alola. Until then, players can catch ’em all by playing Pokémon Sun & Moon and Pokémon TCG: Sun & Moon.
