The newest trailer for Pokemon Sun and Moon has introduced a load of new details about the game, including new creatures, new Alola forms, Ultra Beasts, the Aether Foundation, and the new Poke Finder game feature.
Type: Null is a brand new normal type, he’s a weird creature who appears to have been assembled form a miss match of parts from whatever was left laying around. Jangmo-o is a cute dragon type who will most likely evolve into a big strong dragon of some sort.
The trailer addressed some of the differences between the two versions, such as the time of day. Sun and Moon will be set “12 hours apart”- meaning although the games are tied to the internal clock of the 3DS to follow a 24-hour day/night cycle, Moon will take place 12 hours ahead. As usual, there will be differences between the two games’ Pokemon. For instance, Totem Pokemon will be different per version, while Sun will get Gumshoos, Moon will receive Raticate Alola form.
The trailer also showed the Aether Foundation, a group of researchers and Pokemon lovers alike, they built a massive island prime with technology to study, rescue, and nurture Pokemon, while also protecting them from Team Skull.
Additionally, players will be able to find Zygarde’s Cells and Cores scattered throughout the island. Although it’s not clear what finding them will entail, it’s a pretty safe bet to assume it was something to do with Zygarde’s 100% form.
The most mysterious news was the reveal of Ultra Beasts. These new creatures aren’t even referred to as Pokemon, while there have been multiple teases, the only reveal as of now is UB-01, a jellyfish-looking creature.
Finally, the new Poke Finder feature transforms the game into a first-person camera view, letting players take pictures of wild Pokemon in set locations. The photos are then rated, which will unlock additional features such as zoom-in.
Information and news about Pokemon Sun and Moon have been steadily released ahead of the games’ November 18 release.
