After Prince Harry returned to the UK to pay his respects to Queen Elizabeth, he promptly made his way to London, where he’d participate in the WellChild Awards. The national event has been ongoing for several years and celebrates the perseverance of children with disabilities as they endure physical hardships and live fulfilling lives. Prince Harry is no stranger to attending this well-known event and was even seen having a balloon swordfight with a young girl, who presented gifts to the Prince for his children. However, critics are more than certain that the ex-royal was exploiting these disabled youths for his own gain.
Prince Harry Accused of Using Disabled Children as a Means of Positive PR
“Commoner Harry abuses poor children for PR,” reads the title of a social media post, pointing out how very few people are actually praising Prince Harry for being a “relatable, fun, relaxed guy” around children, or anyone, for that matter. One commenter pointed out how the Duke of Sussex positioned himself for the cameras, as the whole event was nothing but a photo op for him. Royal expert Neil Sean also points out how, in the past, Harry spoke about being very anxious to be in the spotlight when it came to the media pointing cameras at him. However, Harry has gotten used to the publicity and become very acquainted with the “power of the camera.” And it’s very noticeable, especially to keen followers of the Royal Family.
Another online user says that it’s rather interesting how Harry and Meghan always use children as a means for positive PR, since the youth are “unaware of how manipulative, hypocritical, and vicious the couple are.” Based on what this critic is saying, this could very well be the reason why Harry has taken such a firm position on being a lead patron for his charity, the Invictus Games Foundation. Unfortunately for him, many predict that the members of the charity no longer see the wayward Prince as an ideal patron due to his poor reputation and have plans to possibly remove him from participating in the future.
Besides Prince Harry exploiting children for ‘a good look,’ many people are also pointing out how old he looks compared to his age. “He looks 50+ here. Drugs and drink really ages you. Which explains Meghan too,” remarks a Redditor. “This is what bitterness does to you. He looks older than William,” Plenty more criticize his looks, but honestly, the reason he looks worn out could be from dealing with all the backlash both he and his wife have been receiving. Not to mention, the stress of returning to the UK and being put under the critics’ microscope is probably a heavy load as well.
